Best Review Management Software for Cleaning Companies

The best review software for cleaning companies should connect a real customer event to a neutral review request, follow up without spamming repeat customers, and make it easy to monitor and respond after the review arrives. We compared the three launch-stage platforms on the criteria that matter most for residential and commercial cleaning businesses with repeat customers.

Why the workflow matters for cleaning companies

Cleaning businesses should avoid asking the same recurring customer after every visit. Frequency caps and resend rules matter more here than in many one-off trades; the goal is a steady stream of genuine feedback without message fatigue.

Integration evidence for this industry

A marketing page saying “integrates with thousands of apps” is not enough. We give more credit when the vendor documents the exact field-service, CRM, payment or scheduling system and the trigger path.

Which one should you choose?

Choose NiceJob if…

  • Your business already runs on home-service tools and you want the simplest documented connection path.
  • You want reviews to feed website social proof, referrals or repeat-business workflows.
  • $75–$125/month is reasonable for the post-job growth layer.

Choose TrueReview if…

  • Transparent limits and starting price matter.
  • You are comfortable using Zapier/API-style automation when a direct connector is not available.
  • You want to start lean and expand into SMS, multi-location and AI features later.

Choose Review Dingo if…

  • You prefer done-for-you setup and a dedicated account contact.
  • You want reviews alongside listings, social, messaging or other reputation tools.
  • You are willing to get a quote instead of comparing a fully public self-serve price table.

What a good 14-day trial should prove

  1. Trigger accuracy: connect a completed first clean, deep clean or recurring-service milestone and confirm only eligible completed-customer events create requests.
  2. Message control: build neutral SMS/email copy with no reward, rating pressure or “only happy customers” condition.
  3. Frequency control: test duplicate suppression and resend limits, especially for repeat customers.
  4. Destination control: verify the correct Google Business Profile/location and any secondary review sites.
  5. Reporting: confirm the owner can see requests, clicks, responses and location performance without manual spreadsheets.
  6. Exception handling: document what happens when a job is reopened, refunded, disputed or completed without valid consent/contact data.

Google policy is part of the buying decision

Google’s Maps user-generated-content policy prohibits incentives for reviews, pressure, discouraging negative reviews, and selectively soliciting positive reviews. Google’s Business Profile help also says reviews should reflect genuine experiences. That means the software should help you ask eligible customers neutrally; it should not be used to manufacture a five-star-only sample.

Policy-safe default: decide who is eligible based on a genuine completed service event—not the customer’s private rating or whether staff think the customer is “happy.” Keep complaint handling available to everyone, but do not use a complaint/sentiment step to block public-review access.

Cost check before you subscribe

For a cleaning company, the cheapest plan is not automatically the cheapest workflow. Include middleware, extra locations, SMS/request limits, staff time and any overlap with features already inside your field-service platform. If your CRM already sends adequate neutral review requests, the incremental value of a standalone product needs to come from better follow-up, monitoring, widgets, reporting, referrals or other post-job automation.

Our current first product to test: NiceJob

Start with one location and one real completion trigger. Do not migrate every workflow until the vendor proves the request timing, duplicate controls and reporting work with your actual customer data.

Which review software works for recurring cleaning customers?

For house-cleaning, carpet-cleaning and commercial-cleaning teams, the most important questions are when requests are sent, how repeat customers are protected from over-messaging, whether location or crew ownership is clear and how reviews are monitored without pressuring customers for positive ratings. Validate the review workflow using a real completed-job example, including opt-out and complaint handling.

Review software should not be confused with scheduling and cleaning-crew management. For the underlying booking, estimate, invoice and customer-record workflow, use the Jobber research, Housecall Pro research and direct comparison. Confirm each platform’s actual review features and current costs.

Cleaning-service buyer checklist

Match review requests to recurring cleaning and crew handoffs

Home cleaning, carpet cleaning and commercial cleaning use different completion events. Ask vendors to demonstrate recurring-customer frequency controls, individual site ownership and a neutral review invitation that does not filter out unhappy customers. Use a test booking where the assigned crew changes before the job closes.

  • Identify whether the office, crew lead or owner handles replies.
  • Confirm request timing, customer permission, reminders and duplicate suppression.
  • Check what happens when a contract pauses, a customer opts out or the business changes software.

Review-request software should be evaluated separately from scheduling and invoicing: start with Jobber vs Housecall Pro for the operations platform and Google review automation for the follow-up sequence.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best review software for cleaning companies?

Our current desk-research pick is NiceJob, but the right answer depends heavily on your existing CRM, message volume and whether you want review collection only or broader post-job marketing. The top three are close enough that a real integration test is more useful than choosing on feature count alone.

Can cleaning companies automate Google review requests?

Yes. The safest pattern is to trigger a neutral request after a genuine completed service event and let the customer decide whether and how to review. Avoid rewards, rating pressure and selective positive-review solicitation.

Do I need separate software if my CRM already asks for reviews?

Not necessarily. Keep the CRM workflow if it already provides reliable triggers, neutral messaging, resend controls and adequate reporting. Add specialized software only when the incremental review, monitoring, proof or growth features justify the extra cost and complexity.

For recurring jobs, scheduling, invoicing and customer management, continue with cleaning business software, Jobber and Housecall Pro.

Cleaning-company reputation workflow

Review management for cleaning companies

Recurring customers make timing and suppression rules especially important. Compare request automation, reputation monitoring, location or team visibility, customer opt-outs and integrations with the scheduling system before choosing a platform. See Google review automation for contractors for the request workflow.

Verify review-platform integrations before buying

Some review tools claim to work with field-service systems. Ask for a live demonstration of the exact Jobber or Housecall Pro connection you would use: supported plan, trigger after service completion, contacts and job fields synchronized, third-party automation fees and safeguards against duplicate requests. A listing that mentions an integration is not proof it is active for your plan.

If you also need team scheduling and customer records, compare the underlying platforms in Jobber vs Housecall Pro and review their Jobber and Housecall Pro pricing guides.
