Corrections and vendor response policy

Contractor Tool Scout aims to separate verified facts, editorial interpretation, vendor claims, and hands-on findings. Readers, contractors, software companies, and other affected parties may submit documented factual corrections.

How to submit a correction

Send the page URL, the exact statement believed to be inaccurate, the requested correction, and a current first-party or authoritative source to the email listed on our contact page. Screenshots should include a date and the original source location.

What qualifies as a factual correction

  • Published price, billing term, user allowance, or plan availability has changed.
  • A documented feature, integration, platform, or policy is described incorrectly.
  • A quotation or attributed company statement is inaccurate.
  • A material source link no longer supports the associated claim.

What does not guarantee an editorial change

A vendor preference, marketing claim, disagreement with a clearly labeled opinion, affiliate relationship, advertising proposal, or request to remove a documented limitation does not by itself require a change.

Review process

  1. We compare the request with the cited page and retained source records.
  2. Material facts are rechecked using current official documentation or direct written clarification.
  3. If a correction is warranted, the page is updated and a meaningful change is added to its public revision history.
  4. Editorial conclusions are reconsidered only when the corrected fact materially changes the decision.

Vendor responses

Vendors may provide factual documentation, product access, demos, or responses. Product access does not guarantee publication, a score, a recommendation, placement, or removal of criticism. We may summarize a relevant response but do not promise to publish promotional language verbatim.

Affiliate independence

Affiliate status does not control inclusion, ranking, verdicts, corrections, or update timing. A company does not need an affiliate program to request a factual correction.

Clearly identify urgent privacy, security, trademark, copyright, or legal concerns in the subject line. This starter policy should be reviewed for the final business entity and jurisdiction before launch.
